Cocco, who is an executive marketing director with Colangelo, a marketing agency located in Darien, received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and English from Emmanuel College in Boston. She joined Colangelo in 2001, founding the strategic planning and consumer insights department. Cocco currently serves as marketing director, representing the agency to new clients and the media. Cocco led the strategy for Colangelo’s five Effies (2007-2008) for clients Schick and Unilever, as well as Best in Show wins from the Ad Club of Connecticut.

Previously, as president of Anagram Partners, Cocco published and released four issues of “Point, Click and Sell,” sales enterprise software for the fast moving consumer goods sector, which is licensed to top Fortune 100 companies. Upon the debut of Point, Click and Sell, she was recognized by Advertising Age in their annual “100 to Watch” report. Cocco is a frequent commentator on marketing subjects and has been quoted in the New York Times, MarketWatch, Advertising Age, BrandWeek, Marketing Week, Promo Magazine.

Cocco is the author of, “Assertiveness Training” and in 1995, co-founded Ridgefield’s Martin Luther King Day ceremonies, recognized as the oldest community-based Martin Luther King ceremony in state.

“Advertising and marketing is a passion-filled, fast-moving field,” said Cocco. “We rely upon the inspiration and energy of young professionals and their new ideas to create success for our clients. When the unpredictable neurological effects of MS strike a young person, it compromises their intellectual, creative and physical vigor. These are not acceptable outcomes for the individuals affected by the disease. These are not acceptable outcomes for me. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is vigorous and unrelenting in its fight against multiple sclerosis. The society supports groundbreaking research focused on finding better treatments and a cure. I am committed to working with the National MS Society to fight for this cure. I invite others to join me and be inspired.”

Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council for outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment. Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000, honorees have raised more than $600,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Cocco is a longtime supporter of the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter and other civic and non profit organizations. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. She has served as an Effies judge from since 2007; has served as chairman of the Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee since 2001; has been a member of Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee since 1998; served as chairman for Connecticut for Hillary Clinton for President in 2008; and was in 2008, appointed official delegate selection chair for Hillary Clinton for President. Cocco volunteered as a Connecticut Girl Scouts USA leader for more than 10 years; and has been a member St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Ridgefield for more than 17 years. She is a member of the Ridgefield Library Association, Strategic Planning Committee; was president of the Ridgefield High School Girls Ice Hockey Booster Club from 2004 to 2006; chairman of the Ridgefield Diversity Committee from 1995 to 2001; and co-founder of the “Think Twice, Talk Nice” Student-Teacher Anti-Bullying program at East Ridge Middle School

“Ms. Cocco is truly an effective leader within her agency and the community at large,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president. “She is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to ensuring quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis and other disabilities.”
