Community Services

Here we share programs and services outside of our chapter that might be of special importance to the MS community.

Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

Connecticut Energy Assistance Program will officially begin the Winter Heating Assistance Program on November 2, 2009. The Community Action Agencies are currently accepting applications for the 2009-2010 CEAP season. Under the 2009 Federal Stimulus Program, the State of CT will be expanding its Weatherization Program to make homes more energy efficient.

For more on CEAP or the Weatherization Program, please visit the CT Department of Social Services Web site or contact Infoline at 2-1-1.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, is a nutrition program that helps low-income individuals and families purchase food. SNAP also provides education about nutrition to help recipients choose foods that enhance their health and well being.
