On behalf of the Gateway Area Chapter to I am asking for your help to improve the lives of those living with MS in our area, like me.
Imagine being thirty years old, full of life, and hearing the diagnosis of MS. That’s exactly what happened to me a few years ago. In that instant, everything in my world changed. My progressive MS had made it increasingly difficult for me to live on my own, and forced me to look at various living situations. Situations that I never imagined I would be considering at the age of 35.
I am now a resident at “The Heights” located at NHC Town and Country. This is a special wing that provides care and social opportunities for those of us living in a nursing home at a very young age. The fact that I am now able to spend time with others in the same situation makes my life more enjoyable and definitely more bearable.
The Chapter provides support at “The Heights” through special exercise groups, social outings and other opportunities to learn how to cope with MS. All of these things have helped to ease my fears about life with MS.
This would not be possible, however, without the continued donations from people like you. Now is the perfect time to help us, as your gift will be matched dollar for dollar.
I never imagined at this age that I would need to live in a nursing home. But, here I am. With your donation, at least I have a place that understands my MS and provides me with the things I need to make the most out of life and the least of my MS.
Please give today.
Sincerely,
Terri
