Presenters
Eunice Colmon, MAOB is a management training and career consultant with over 20 years experience coaching managers in management skills and career development. She has provided career assessment training to numerous organizations assisting managers with mid-career transitions.

Norm Jennings is an educator for JobQuest, an employment training and consulting organization serving individuals with disabilities. He has provided career consultation to hundreds of job seekers and has extensive experience in human resources and employment.

Kristin Kvaternik, CRC is a vocational rehabilitation and career counselor with over 10 years experience providing career counseling and job placement services for individuals with disabilities. She has conducted
workshops on resume writing, interviewing, career change and job seeking skills.

 

2009 Job Readiness Program Schedule

Interest Testing
Monday, April 13 and Thursday, April 30
1:30 - 4:30 pm

Receive a personal interest inventory report and learn how to interpret the results to help with career planning.
Attendance both days required.

Transferable Skills
Friday, May 1
2- 4 pm
Explore interests and transferable skills matching them to the current job market.

Developing a Job Search Plan
Monday, May 4
2 - 4 pm
Develop a job search plan and job search methods that really work.

Know Your Rights
Friday, May 8
2 - 4 pm

Learn about your rights during an interview, how much to disclose, preemployment testing and how to request a reasonable accommodation.

Resume Clinic
Thursday, May 7 and Monday, May 11
2- 4 pm

Develop a quality resume that gets interviews.
Attendance both days required.

Negotiation
Wednesday, May 13
2 - 4 pm

Explore the ins and outs of the job offer, conditional agreements and salary negotiation.

Interview Clinic
Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15
2- 4 pm

Develop and practice interview skills and obtain feedback on how to make the best presentation.
Attendance both days is required.

For those interested in practicing further, the Interview Clinic mock interviews with members of the chapter’s Business Advisory Council can be arranged.

At the completion of the Job Readiness Program, participants have the opportunity to obtain support from other members seeking employment by attending the chapter’s weekly Job Club.
