Support Groups Fall 2009
The New York City - Southern New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society offers support groups
for individuals living with MS, as well as their families and caregivers. These groups are created to
meet the needs of people with similar concerns.
In-Person Groups are 1.5 hours long. They meet in a variety of locations throughout the five
boroughs.
Conference Call Groups are 1 hour long. They are free and require no special equipment.
The call comes to your home. People in the 212, 347, 646, 718, or 845, 914, and 917 area codes are eligible
to participate.
You may register for up to two conference call groups. There is no limit for inperson groups.
All groups provide opportunities to discuss MS-related concerns, experiences and resources.
Groups are conducted by chapter-trained therapists, many with peer co-leaders. To participate
in a group you must be registered as a member of the Chapter. Membership is free.
