Tell Your Story
Have you taken action on an issue that was important to you? Are you having a difficult time with prescription drug coverage or accessible transportation? We’re always looking for people willing to tell legislators their stories in person or through written communication. Some examples of concerns you might want to let us know about include the following:
- You have Social Security Disability Insurance, are in the two year waiting period for Medicare and are having difficulties paying for health insurance
- You have Medicare Part D and are having trouble meeting your co-pays
- You are currently in a residence that is not affordable or accessible and are having difficulties finding housing that meets your needs
- You have concerns about the accessibility of NYC transportation NYC
- You successfully advocated to get a medication covered by your insurance company
- You successfully advocated to get a public place accessible (curb cut, restaurant, store)
These are just some examples of the kind of stories we would like to hear. If you would like to tell us about an advocacy success or need help with an advocacy issue, contact us at 212-453-3238 or pweiner@msnyc.org.
Join the movement! Even one voice can make an impact on the chapter’s advocacy efforts to do something about MS NOW!
