Emotional Health Programs

Self Help Groups
There are self-help groups that meet within the Inland Northwest Chapter area. These groups offer special programs as well as emotional support to people with multiple sclerosis and their family members. Please click here for a complete list.

Friendly Faces
Volunteers visit individuals in area nursing homes who just need to talk.

Mental Health Counseling
Mental health financial assistance is provided for individuals who are currently in crisis, need professional mental counseling and would not otherwise be able to financially afford to pay for such services on their own. The Inland Northwest Chapter will financially assist for three counseling sessions.

Telephone Peer Support
Telephone peers are people with MS who have been trained in listening skills. They are available to talk to other people with MS who need someone to listen and understand without making judgments, want to talk to someone who is not a family member or a close friend, or need to vent anger, frustrations, etc.

For more information on any of the above listed programs, please contact the Program Director at 509-482-2022 or 800-344-4867 or by email at wai@nmss.org.
