Communication Group

Do you want to improve your communication skills? Participate with others who have communication difficulty from stroke, Parkinsons Disease, multiple sclerosis, or other neurological changes. Improve your skills in a relaxed, welcoming environment - facilitated by an Evergreen Healthcare speech/language pathologist. Coffee and cookies provided.

Men's Caregiver Support Group

This drop-in group meets the third Thursday each month and is facilitated by the Greenwood Senior Center.

Living with Autoimmunity

Presented by Pat’s Fund, this is a gathering for those living with autoimmune diseases, family & friends. Increase your understanding about autoimmunity, 80+ autoimmune disease and how one or more may affect you and those close to you. Lunch is included.

Warrior Heart: Moving Your Chronic Illness

Skill-building & support groups designed to put you in charge of your illness. Expertly led by Kathy Wilmering, MSW, ARNP, BC.

Chronic illness can seem like a stuck, heavy boulder; however, we can find ways to afftect both the illness our reactions to it. In eight weekly meetings you will learn to use qi gong, sound and music, and other complimentary approaches to reduce and often eliminate the troubling symptoms of a variety of chronic illnesses. Exact approaches will depend on the group’s specific needs.

Moms with MS has been created as a place where mothers who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis can come to talk, chat, post tips, compare notes, recipes and more around dealing with anything mother or MS related. C.H.A.T, presented by MS LifeLines

Take Control: Managing MS Symptoms

It’s critical for patients with relapsing MS to pay close attention to their health and monitor themselves for any potential symptoms. Physical Activity Classes at Evergreen Healthcare

These three classes are held in the DeYoung Pavilian, 2nd floor Rainier room (where the Rehab gym is located). Patients can call the Evergreen Health line at 425-899-3000 and just sign up for the class. If you are unable to pay for the class, please communicate that when you call and the fee may be waived. People are encouraged to register so that the instructor knows how many people are coming to the class.

From the Ground Up - Strength and Flexibility
Geared toward those with neurological disorders including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and Post-Stroke Recovery this weekly, mat-oriented class, includes elements of Yoga, Tai Chi, dumbbell exercise, exercise bands and more. Participants will be supplied with all of the necessary equipment including the exercise mat. Exercises take place on the ground but are beneficial in all walks of life. Due to the nature of the class all participants must be able to get down to their mat and back to their feet again independently or at least with the assistance of their own caregiver. Registration is necessary in order to attend. Fee is $20 for four-week session.

Neurological Exercise Group
Gentle stretch and strength exercises for patients affected by neurological disorders, such as Parkinson's, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis. Led by Evergreen Physical Therapy Department. Four-week session.

Additional class information: Please bring a water bottle to class. Class meets for 4 weeks in the DeYoung Pavilion, 2nd Floor - Rainer Room every Tuesday and Thursday
Start Time: 12:45 p.m.
End Time: 1:45 p.m.
Cost : $20.00 per month

Moving to Music
Designed for patients affected by neurological disorders, such as Parkinson's, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis. Class will include the use of music for deep breathing, warm-ups, main activity, stretching/cool down, and relaxation breathing along with question/comment time at the end.

Additional class information: Class meets in the DeYoung Pavilion - 2nd Floor, Rainer Room every other Monday

Cost : $5.00
