Meal Volunteer: Ensure that Challenge Walk MS participants are well fed and that the area used for food service is well stocked, kept clean and maintained.
Ambassador: Be an ambassador to all Challenge Walk participants. Answer any questions people may have about MS or the National MS Society- Gateway Area Chapter.
Safety Volunteer: Safety volunteers are placed at busy intersections or challenging areas of the route to provide safety for the walkers.
Finish Line Volunteer: Ensure that walkers feel a strong emotional impact as they cross the finish line so that they will feel their efforts have been worthwhile. Ensure that the property we are using is attractive, decorated, well maintained during the event and left in good order.
Foot Soak Volunteer: Foot soak volunteers are assigned to the overnight location to provide a soothing foot soak and minor foot first aid attention, as needed, to injured walkers.
In- Kind Researcher Volunteer: Research and contact potential in-kind donors for items needed at Challenge Walk MS.
Rest Stop Volunteer: Provide refreshments and information for Challenge Walk MS participants as they walk the route.
Massage Therapy Volunteer: Provide relaxing massage experience, as needed, to injured or exhausted walkers. Massage Therapist volunteers may be assigned to the lunch stop, a post along the route (i.e. rest stops), the overnight location or pre-finish line.
Medical Volunteer: RN, MD, LPN, or EMT assigned to the lunch stop, or another location along the walk route to provide medical attention as needed to injured or exhausted walkers. Medical volunteers may also be staged at the overnight location and dispatched on the route.
Parking Volunteer: Maintain a safe and efficient flow of traffic into the assigned parking area by directing participants, volunteers and guests to the correct parking or drop-off areas.
Photography Volunteer: Capture all ceremonies and aspects of event in digital and film formats.
Welcome Tent Volunteer: Ensure Challenge Walk MS participants are checked in, given correct information about the event, and directed to their room assignments. Also includes volunteer check-in, garage sale, greeters, and concierge.
SAG Driver Volunteer: Provide support and transportation to walkers in distress due to injury or exhaustion. (Vans are provided and volunteers staff the vehicles).
Labor Volunteer: Set-up/breakdown of all tents, tables, chairs and supplies for each area of the Challenge Walk MS, providing participants with an enjoyable experience.
Truck Driver Volunteer: Provide truck support (including loading and unloading of material/ supplies) for route rest stops, lunch and overnight locations. Truck drivers with a CDL are being highly sought.

Please note that volunteers between the ages of 12 and 17 will need to have a parent or guardian complete the waiver attached to the application.
