The primary mission of the MS Harborfest is to raise fund to help create a world free of multiple sclerosis for people who live with the unpredictable challenges this disease can bring. Maine is hit especially hard by MS, with a 70% prevalence than the rest of the country. Without the generosity of our business and individual sponsors, this mission would not be possible.
This year, we are proud to welcome the Bangor Daily News as our presenting media sponsor. Their generosity with this partnership will help bring us closer to our goal by raising awareness through their strong print and online presence in Maine. Many of our sponsors return to us year after year with their generous cash donations. Just as important as their cash contributions, many of our key sponsors’ employees additionally donate hundreds of hours of volunteer services helping to produce this weekend long event.
MS Harborfest Regatta also welcomes more than 100 companies each year as individual sailboat sponsors. By sponsoring a sailboat for $500, representatives from the sponsoring company have the opportunity to sail aboard their sponsored boat or participate in the parade of sail. Sailors love to fly their sponsors’ banners during the parade and the race. New sailboat sponsors are also welcome, as boats can carry multiple sponsor banners. Sponsor a sailboat!
Finally, hundreds of area businesses donate products and services for auction and raffle items, event prizes, and food and beverage for the weekend-long festivities. It’s not too late to participate as a sponsor in the 2013 MS Harborfest.
