Taking the Next Step After Diagnosis

It’s hard to predict what a future with MS will hold. But MS Next Step® helps people take their “next step” toward getting the information and support they want and need after diagnosis.

Intended to be given to people at the moment of diagnosis, MS Next Step is a primer on what to expect. This new program produced by the Society includes a booklet and DVD with a short video (closed captioning in English and Spanish, and print transcripts are also offered). The materials cover what MS is, including possible causes, how it is treated, and some of the life challenges a person with MS may face early on, such as disclosure. There is guidance on where to go for more information, and a description of what the Society offers.

Beyond Diagnosis: Moving Forward

Have you or a family member been diagnosed with MS within the last five years? Do you have questions about MS that you’d like answered? Have you been wanting to meet others also recently diagnosed? Then this program is for you! We invite those who are newly diagnosed within the last 5 years to join us to learn more about their new diagnosis, multiple sclerosis. An MS expert presents information on MS, answers your questions and facilitates the discussion. Following the presentation, we will share lunch, along with a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with others in similar situations.

"Can We Talk?" Conference Calls

Can We Talk? Do you want to learn about topics of interest to people newly diagnosed with MS from experts in their fields? Ask questions, receive information and get support. These educational conference call series are toll-free and are open to anyone diagnosed with MS within the last five years, and their family members. Register for just one call, more than one, or all calls! The toll-free dial-in number is given to you after registration. Participate from the comfort of your own home! Two sessions (fall and spring) of 3 calls each. Feel free to register for both sessions.
