Bertie's Belt Sander Race

Bertie's Belt Sander Race

For more than two decades, the folks at Bertie’s Inn in Exeter Township have made their marks against MS through the Bertie’s Belt Sander Race.

This year's event will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information, click here or contact Peter and Anne Thomas at bertiesinn@gmail.com.

If you can't make the event, consider supporting it with a tax-deductible donation.

Check out WFMZ 69's news coverage of last year's event.

The spirited event, co-sponsored by Leinbach Hardware, attracts 400 to 500 racers and spectators each year and raises $8,000 to $10,000 for local people living with MS through sponsorships and ticket sales. Team members take part in a tournament-style competition by sitting on belt sanders and racing the length of a 50-foot track.
