2009 Researchers Hall of Fame

Dr. Jenny Pan-Yun Ting – Eastern North Carolina
Dr. Ting’s contributions to MS research and her renown status in scientific circles have raised the profile of the National MS Society and the Eastern North Carolina Chapter. Her willingness to volunteer time and expertise has engaged donors, informed clients and energized other researchers to focus on MS.

Dr. Henry McFarland – National Capital
A neurologist, an internationally known researcher, and the Chief of the Neuroimmunology Branch at the National Institutes of Health, Henry McFarland, M.D., has been a leader in the MS movement for decades. He has donated his time and expertise to the National MS Society internationally and locally by leading committees, coordinating education programs, and facilitating collaboration within the D.C. health community.

Caroline C. Whitacre, Ph.D. – Ohio Buckeye
Caroline C. Whitacre, Ph.D. has been on the forefront of MS research since she was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellow from the National MS Society. Her research at The Ohio State University has focused on the immunology of MS, including new developments in oral tolerance as a treatment strategy. Her research has included an in-depth look at MS as it relates to gender differences and pregnancy. She has also shared her knowledge through numerous presentations and publications.
