The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (World Health Organization, 2002)
While each rehabilitation specialty has its own particular assessment protocols, they share a commitment to the biopsychosocial approach to disablement. Within this biopsychosocial model, as defined by the ICIDH-2 of the World Health Organization, assessment is required not only of a specific impairment, but of the consequences of that impairment for a person’s daily activities and participation in his or her world.
